The Team Behind the Community Activity Park
After the results of Planning for Real ™ were collated in 2003, five local community groups were brought together as a Core Group with help from Gal Travis of Community Connections and Paul Griffin of NWES (Norfolk and Waveney Enterprise Services)

Mapping Out the CAP
After reviewing the raw data, the conclusion was drawn that a community park containing a multi-use centre incorporating all of the “wished for” services and facilities was the ideal and practical solution

The group then sought a suitable location for the now named Community Activity Park, somewhere that would provide space for all of the community facilities, provide parking and within reach of local people

The group reviewed a number of locations, all of which were unsuitable, then land near to the Beacon Park Innovation Centre became the ideal choice - it offered plenty of room and provided easy access from the main A12 route from Gorleston to Lowestoft

During 2003, 2004 and 2005 the Group, now formally constituted as the CAP Management Group, put together the initial design of the park and the CAP centre itself
